The article on the front page of the "Local Section" of your paper about the Delray Beach Golf Club upgrades reminds me of the same political football that West Palm Beach has had with its historic municipal golf facility.
Tens of millions are spent annually by all communities, giving funds to businesses and other organizations under the guise of attracting tourists, and how those expenditures will come back many times-fold for the betterment of those communities.
But politicians do not fund their asset worth hundreds of millions. Those golf courses, that use up 150 to 175 acres of land and where cities had originally poured millions into building the golf course, club house, and equipment to maintain everything — then they let it go to seed. Pathetic!
